چکیده

One hypothesis is that the activation of innate immunity and release cytokines breaks down blood brain barrier (BBB) causes neuroinflammation. Here, I present a case COVID-19 associated MIS-C (multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children) with neurological complications manifesting as encephalopathy cytotoxic lesion corpus callosum (CLOCC) on MRI, association extremely elevated levels circulating interleukin-6 (IL-6), soluble interleukin-2 receptor (sIL2R).

A Reversible Lesion of Corpus Callosum Splenium with Adult Influenza Associated Encephalopathy: a case report

An influenza virus associated encephalopathy is severe and poor prognoses in childhood. Adult case reports were still quite rare. Especially, none of them was presenting quite mild subcortical encephalopathy with reversible lesions of corpus callosum splenium. A previously healthy 35-year-old man was affected by acute progressive tetraplegia, transcortical motor aphasia, and mild dullness of hi...

A reversible lesion of the corpus callosum splenium with adult influenza-associated encephalitis/encephalopathy: a case report

INTRODUCTION Influenza virus-associated encephalitis/encephalopathy is a severe childhood illness with a poor prognosis. Adult case reports are rare and, to date, there have been no reports of adults with a mild subcortical encephalopathy with reversible lesions of the corpus callosum splenium. CASE PRESENTATION A previously healthy 35-year-old man presented with acute progressive tetraplegia...

X-Linked Lissencephaly with Absent Corpus Callosum and Ambiguous Genitalia: A Case Report

Background: X-linked lissencephaly with ambiguous genitalia (XLAG) is a recently described genetic disorder, in which patients present with lissencephaly, agenesis of the corpus callosum, refractory epilepsy of neonatal onset, acquired microcephaly, and male genotype with ambiguous genitalia. XLAG is responsible for a severe neurological disorder of neonatal onset in boys. A gyration defect con...

Transient splenial lesion of the corpus callosum in clinically mild influenza-associated encephalitis/encephalopathy.

BACKGROUND Reversible lesions in the splenium of the corpus callosum (SCC), caused by various agents such as influenza, rotavirus, Escherichia coli, mumps, and adenovirus, were previously defined in a handful of cases. We present 5 cases with transient diffusion restriction of the SCC associated with influenza A virus infection. MATERIALS AND METHODS Five patients with influenza-associated en...

Influenza-associated encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible lesion in the splenium of the corpus callosum: a case report and literature review.

We report the cases of two patients with influenza-associated encephalitis/encephalopathy (IAEE) who presented with mild CNS manifestations and complete recovery within a few days. Initial MR imaging at days 4 and 5 revealed a lesion in the central portion of the splenium of the corpus callosum with a reduced apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value, which completely resolved on follow-up stu...
